Luca Ballan

Luca Ballan is a tech lead in Google AR where he currently leads the machine learning effort for motion tracking, providing ARCore users with state-of-the-art technologies for continuous and reliable AR experiences. Luca received his doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, and later worked as a senior researcher at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, focusing on spatio-temporal modeling of real events. Luca’s research publications span topics like human motion capture, video-based rendering, 3D reconstruction, and image-based localization.
